The path
You don't have to know what you're doing.
You have to be willing to be present.
CCN trains chaplains who already have lived experience and skilled chaplains who want to keep growing. Our path is rigorous and humane, and it does not require you to leave your current life.
Eligibility
- 21 or older
- A real desire to be of service in hard moments
- Willingness to work across faiths, doubts, and worldviews
- Capacity for 8–10 hrs/week during Unit I
The path, in four stages.
From the day you apply to your first case, expect 4–6 months. We move at the pace of careful work.
1. Application
A short form about who you are, where you've been, and what's drawing you toward this work. About 15 minutes.
2. Conversation
A 45-minute conversation with two CCN staff. We're listening for fit, not credentials.
3. CPE Unit I
Eleven weeks of accredited Clinical Pastoral Education. Online plus a clinical placement near you.
4. Onboarding
Supervision, peer cohort, and your first cases — at the pace your life can hold.
